I'm back at work...hee hee. Okay, I guess it's not so bad. I only worked 3 days last week and only work 3 days this week. It really could be worse. I feel for those that work weekends and holidays. But, I guess we all have to make a living.
We had such a busy weekend that my house is still in major disarray. I wish there were more hours in the day to take care of these kinds of things. Or what would be even better is if I had all kinds of money to hire somebody to do them for me. :) I don't see either of those happening any time soon, or ever, so I guess I need to do it myself. Do you ever feel like you just need to take time off of work to catch up on things at home? I do all the time but I don't take the time off to do it. Even if I did, I would more than likely come up with better things to do.
I didn't finish my Christmas crafts. They might be ready for New Year's. That's okay though. I have lots of sewing and knitting that I would like to do too. I am hoping that this coming holiday weekend allows me some time to knock things off my to do list. If I get to my sewing and it all turns out like the visions that dance in my head, I am hoping to open an Etsy store. I am excited! We will see how things turn out.
How are your days after the holiday weekend coming along?

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way....
I have had that song stuck in my head all day. I must have heard it on the radio today.
Presents are wrapped, stockings are hung, cookies are baked....I think we are ready for Christmas! But, we are in the middle of a snowstorm. We may not make it to any of our destinations. We don't have a lot of traveling to do but a little. We are just going to see how things look in the morning. I love a white Christmas but I don't care for the storms to actually happen on Christmas. They have been talking possible record breaking snowfall amounts so it is not looking good. No matter what happens, we will be with people that we love and that is all that matters.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Enjoy the holiday season!

Must.Wrap.Presents.
I have not wrapped a single present. Yes, I know, Christmas is right around the corner. I have hundreds of presents to wrap (I haven't really counted). Maybe tonight. And maybe not.
Oh yeah, I have crafts to make, more presents to buy and more treats to make. And let's not forget about getting the cards sent out (that I just ordered today). Why do I have to be such a procrastinator? I really am usually more on the ball that this. I'm not sure what happened to me this year. It will get better. That is what I keep telling myself.
Are you ready for Christmas?

Saturday
I love Saturdays. We have a lot of family time and I don't have to go to work. That is always a good thing, right?! Here is how we spent our Saturday. (I realized that I didn't take pics of our snow but I included some today.)
On the agenda for tomorrow.....finish Christmas shopping (I hope).

Snow Days
I have fond memories and having snow days as a child. It was the best to wake up in the morning and see that school was closed because of the snow. We would jump for joy!!
We are in the middle of a blizzard here and it is making me long for snow days. Unfortunately, when you become a responsible, working adult, snow days rarely happen. But, school will more than likely be closed tomorrow which means my son will be having his first snow day of this school year. Oh the excitement! But, unless it is really bad I will have to go to work which means he will have to go to daycare. I'm sure he would rather do that than go to school, but I wish we could stay home, snuggle up, drink hot chocolate and watch Spongebob. You never know, it just might happen.
I will take some pics of our new snow (they are saying 8 - 11 inches) tomorrow.

Christmas Gift Wish List
I thought I would show a few things that are on my wish list for Christmas this year and maybe it will give all of you some inspiration for gift ideas for others in your lives.

I ordered one of these exact necklaces for a friend of mine for a Christmas gift. I had her daughter's name put on it. I think they are so sweet. I can't wait to see it. Oh yeah, I would like one too. I might have to order one for myself if Santa doesn't put it under our tree.
I really, really want a Kitchen Aid Mixer. Seriously, you have no idea. I have wanted one for years. I might have to buy this too if I don't get it. I better start shaking the money tree. The Pioneer Woman is giving 3 of these away in Candy Apple Red today. First of all, I think PW is a fantastic person. I may or may not have a girl crush on her. But, that is besides the point. Maybe I will win one of the ones that she is giving away today. It is highly unlikely. Have you seen how many people enter her giveaways??

You got it....a nice food processor! I do a lot of cooking and baking. This is a must have for me. I have a small, cheap one right now that works but I could really do some damage with this one. Santa, I have been good this year, I promise.

Oh how I love me some boots. I really don't need any more, but I want more. These are adorable and can be found here.

These are Addi Click Needles. If you are a knitter, you would absolutely adore these. No more trying to keep track of your circular needles and what sizes you have. This is a whole set. Oh how I hope I get these.
There you have it, that is my wish list (not really the entire list. What can I say, I'm selfish.) Will I get all of this? Absolutely not. Will I get some of it? I hope so!!

Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours. I hope all of you enjoy this holiday and are able to spend it with those you love. We have a lot to be thankful for at our house. Today is a great day to think about all that we have that we take for granted most days. Now, lets eat some turkey!!!!

Slippers

I have knitted felted slippers and love them, but I have not made any like these. Are these not the most adorable slippers you have very seen? I have to make them....stat! I love the word "stat"....it sounds so important. Now I am getting off topic. I do that sometimes. I will try to stay on task. So anyway, I really need to purchase the pattern (Ravelry link). I am off to do that right now. Hopefully I will be posting pics of my own French Press felted slippers soon, so stay tuned!!!
Last week I promised finished knitting projects. They really are coming soon....I promise! I have been meaning to get pics in the day light and that hasn't happened yet. Soon though, real soon.
Christmas Gift Ideas.....
I am looking for some gift ideas for some of my family members.
First of all, my 7 year old son. Is an iPod too much for a 7 1/2 (he would want to add the 1/2) year old? Some kids his age have cell phones. He will not be getting a cell phone any time soon but possibly an iPod. It won't be the top model by any means. Any other ideas?
My mother and mother-in-law are next. Gosh they are hard to buy for. I need some inspiration. Can anybody help?
I bought this for my friend...a pretty necklace with her daughter's name. Love it! I want one for myself.

Family
I thought I would share a picture here. It is always nice to put a face with a name. This isn't really a "family" picture because it is just my son and I but it will give you an idea for now. I will get a family picture soon and post it.
This is us with the Gold'n Plump chicken at the Mall of America this summer. Have any of you been to the Mall of America?

Out of the mouths of babes...
I thought I would tell a cute little story that happened yesterday. I didn't necessarily think that it was terribly funny at the time but now I laugh about it because it really is cute.
As I said in my previous post, I have a 7 year old son. I also have many of nieces and nephews. My son called my 5 year old niece yesterday to see if she could come over and play. My sister dropped her off and after a couple of hours of them being a bit naughty and not listening to me, I told them to pick up their mess and go outside and play. We had a very nice day considering it is November in Minnesota. We had our windows open since it was such a nice day and as I was standing in the kitchen getting dinner started, I heard my niece say, "Why is your mom so mean?" And my son replies, "I know my mom is mean, then it is my dad and then Libby (our dog). Libby is the nicest one in the family." I just sorta giggled to myself and went on with my cooking. If we could all only be 5 and 7 again and think that our moms and dads are so mean because they sent us outside after making a mess of our toys in the house.
Coming soon.....finished knitting projects! Yay!!

Lets try this again...
I have tried to start this blog many times over the last year. I can't believe it has really been that long but I guess it has. Oh man! What am I doing?? Well, I really like the idea of blogging and want to get into it but every time I start my "first" post, I delete it. I am going to try this again.
My name is Jessica. I am a mother of a 7 year old. I knit, I cook, I eat, I sleep. Well, I do a bit more than that but my life mainly consists of those activities...besides being a mother. I am a mother first and foremost and love every minute of it.
Nobody will probably ever read this little blog that I like to call "Delicious Knits and Bits" but I am going to give this a shot. If you stop by, please leave me a comment so I know that somebody might actually be reading this nonsense that I hope I will be posting.
