Pain in the....

I have a Pinterest obsession.  For real.  I waste an obscene amount of time on there.  I get some great ideas but I don't follow through with a lot of them.

Well, I am trying to kick my ass into shape so I have been pinning all kinds of workouts and healthy recipes.  Monday evening I did a full body workout from Trainer Momma.  Um, I can barely walk.  It's all good.  I am heading to the gym shortly to do it all over again.

Who wants to join me??

Running Fever

The last I posted about running it wasn't going so great.  I have ran twice since then and it went a little better.  The first day I kept it a little shorter just to see how things would go.  Besides fighting the wind on both runs, it went surprisingly well.  Now please don't expect great times because I am a new runner and definitely not speedy.

Stitches

Good morning.  I just want put up a quick post about my running.  I want to run and I enjoy running but I get a stitch in my side almost every time and it is almost impossible to run through.  Any advice on how to prevent or stop them?  Sorry for the blurry picture.  I took it with my phone but as you can see, my run didn't go that great.  I took a couple walking breaks to try to get rid of the pain but it didn't work so I ended my run.  Hopefully the next one is better.

Owly

Halloween has come and gone.  We had a wonderful time trick or treating.  T (my son) is a 4th grader and is thinking this will be his last year going out for treats.   I think he has at least a couple more years but he was unsure if he even wanted to go this year.  Makes me sad.  My little boy is growing up way too fast.

T also plays hockey.  This means I spend a lot of time at the ice rink.  And what do I do while there?  Knit of course.   I have been cranking out the knitting projects.  Here are a couple of finished projects and one in the process.

I'm Back!

Good afternoon, lovelies.  I took a long hiatus from blogging but I am back!  I changed the name of my blog a little.  The main reason for the change is that I have recently began running. I don't know if I can even say that.  I'm not a runner.  What constitutes a runner?  I'm trying.  That's all I can really say.  I am hoping this holds me accountable and maybe someday will help somebody else that wants to get healthy.  That is my main goal. Be more active, eat better and hopefully lose some poundage in the process.  But mostly I am a mother (a hockey mom at the moment) and a knitter.  Thanks to hockey season being in full swing, I have really been cranking out the completed knit wear.  Stay tuned as I will share pics and details of the projects!

Zumba

In July I signed up for a fitness class called Zumba.  Some of you may have heard of it and it may be new to some of you.  Let me tell you, I have taken fitness/workout classes in the past.  I just don't stick with them.  If they don't keep me interested, then forget it.  I just won't go.  Zumba is different.  It is so much fun.  Here is a little about it from the Zumba site.

"The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. Zumba® Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!"

Go to the Zumba site and find a class near you.  It is so much fun!  And the burning calories doesn't hurt either. :)

First Day of School

Yesterday was back to school day for us.  I can't believe I am the mother of a 3rd grader. :(  Makes me sad.

The boy was really excited for school to start.  He leaped out of bed in the morning and was ready to start his day. Normally it takes some nudging to get him moving in the morning.  I went in to work a little late so I could go into school with him.  We got a few quick pictures outside of the school, I walked him to his locker and said our goodbyes.  I got a little teary eyed as I was leaving but he was just fine.  He had a great day but wasn't too excited about the homework.   We had to have a little discussion about how the homework routine would go this year.  Now that it is out of the way I think we will have a good year!
